Wow, it has been so long and so many different things have happened.

We have opened a boutique in downtown Boone and moved into some clothing, home decor and fun interactive games online. The Fab 5 have worked endless hours in t4e month of Feb to get the boutique filled and opened for business on Feb. 26th. The Grand Opening was amazing. So many friends were waiting as the doors opened.

We no longer host crops, just attend all that we can. The craft cabin is near completion and hopefully hosting its first cabin crafter this spring/early summer.

The Fab5 and family have been the best.

Notes from Myla

WOW !!!
It seems like it has been forever since we were able to be together to crop. Next weekend we will finally be back with our friends at a crop in DesMoines with Connie Bentrott from Close To My Heart.
July 9-12th will be our Sock Hop Crop in Ames.We are working hard to make sure that the social distancing is enforced and that folks feel comfortable with the new ways of doing these events. That being said, Who is ready to do the sock hop? We have some fun things planned for that weekend.

On top of all the other fun things going on in the world today.... we decided to team together with My sister Maxine and open an all inclusive Craft Retreat House. The house can entertain up to 10 crafters for a weekend and comes with all the amenities of home. Just bring your projects and your pillow. We offer home cooked meals, cocktails, make & takes and supplies to share.

The opening dates will be published soon and an can be seen on the Chasing Our Memories Store under events.

About Us...

About Us! Here at the General Store, we strive to offer a contemporary selection of personally crafted items as well as some of your general needs to help you make the best of your photo memories! Every picture tells a story, and whether it’s with something we’ve created or an item you’ve requested, we hope to help those treasured stories and memories come to life in your scrapbook. Rooted here in the heart of central Iowa, we take great pride and honor in not only offering design elements but also hosting a bevy of fun crafting events that allow us to connect with our scrapbook family in person! We currently co-host 4 crop events a year, each with its own theme. Our events have been turned over to Creating With Connie. If you are hunting some good fun crops search for her dates on facebook under "Creating with Connie"
 Our Home Team
Myla is the owner and lead visionary at Chasing Our Memories. Crafting has been a lifelong passion of hers, even though her first scrapbook was started only 3 months before her eldest daughter’s high school graduation. Myla often finds it hard to fit in her full time job on top of all the crafting, but somehow she makes it work. In her free time Myla also enjoys spending time with her family and taking trips. “A trip to anywhere is an adventure if you make it one!” The retail world has become her newest obsession. Finding great bargains and bring them back to her friends is a real passion of hers.
Gina is our Marketing/Design Director here at Chasing Our Memories. Her scrapbook journey started 26 years ago, when her kids were just 3 and 1. Aside from scrapbooking, Gina finds time to work two jobs and of course be a grandma to her favorite little guy! In her spare time Gina loves to spend time with family, though she’s quite partial to her little grandson and journaling. Gina also enjoys the passion of bargains and sharing great finds with her friends.  Retail is so much more fun when sharing it on a live facebook or out scouring the stores.
Sara is our Brand and Blog Director for Chasing Our Memories. Sara’s joy in life comes from being a mom to her son. Crafting and scrapbooking is still a learning process for Sara, but one she has loved learning through attending crops and trying things out! Aside from her full time job as a single mom, Sara is also a full time medical receptionist and part-time nursing school candidate. Sara’s passions also include budgeting and planner decorating and card making.
Maxine Baker is our 2 Sista's Party Co. Liaison. A retired grandmother of 3 Max enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grand kids, traveling and cooking for her family. You can often find Max at our local craft vendor shows and our crops with free samples ready to go! Max also enjoys card making and all sorts of creative projects out on her acreage.

Quarantined Craze

Hello Chasing Memories peeps! Hope everyone is staying healthy and social distancing! Just wanted to jump on here and reach out to everyone for our first blog!! See how everyone is doing and what everyone is doing? Hope those that are not working right now or working from home are feeling the good creative vibes I'm sending your way! I know most wish they could be at work and those of us who are at work wish we could have this time at home! Thus is life. Honestly though, we would LOVE to see what everyone has been keeping busy with if you'd like to post or share a pic with us please do! Myla and Gina spent a few days together a couple weeks back, against nurse Sara's advice, getting some cute layouts done. Take a look at the store and you will find the fruits of their labor with some new paper piercings. I am pretty sure Myla would like to never discuss Paw Patrol every again! Lol! Personally I have been slowly working on a baby girl and baby boy layout, hope to get it done and on the store soon. I've been off just a couple of days and trying to keep my boy sane and focused at least a little bit. We know that this time has been hard on all of us, Myla has been forced to work from home since mid March, and she's definitely felt it. She's had Derrick with her through ALL of it and we are definitely seeing it in him as well. Please feel free to reach out to us, we're always here for you guys! Like I said before we would LOVE to see what you've been working on or just shout out to us for a little socialization while remaining a safe 6ft. apart LOL! Good Health to you all!
